Terms of service

Last updated: October 9, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and The Open Apps, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we", "us"), for the Stirloom plugin in ChatGPT, the website stirloom.ambientapp.ai, and the books we sell. By using Stirloom or placing an order you accept these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

1. What Stirloom does

Stirloom helps you collect family recipes and print them as a hardcover cookbook. You add photos of recipe cards, or type recipes, in ChatGPT. Relatives can add cards through a private family link. When you are happy with the book, you order printed copies on our website. Our printing partner, Lulu, prints and ships them.

OpenAI provides ChatGPT and is not a party to these terms. Your use of ChatGPT is covered by OpenAI’s own terms.

2. Who can use Stirloom

You must be at least 13 years old to use Stirloom. You must be 18 or older, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission, to place an order.

3. Your content

  • You keep all rights to the photos, recipes and text you add ("your content").
  • You give us permission to store, process, display and print your content, and to send it to the partners listed in our privacy policy, only to provide Stirloom to you and to the people you share your book with.
  • You confirm that you have the right to use what you add. Family recipe cards are usually fine. Please don’t add pages copied from published cookbooks, magazines or websites unless you have permission.
  • Relatives who add a card through a family link confirm the same about their card, and agree that the book’s organiser may print it.
  • Don’t add anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or anything that shares someone else’s private information without their consent. We may remove content or close a family link that breaks these rules.

4. Accuracy

ChatGPT types up each card, and handwriting can be misread. You can see every photo next to its text before ordering, and you are responsible for checking the text. We print the book as it is when you order. Recipes are family recipes; we don’t test them and make no promise about results or allergens.

5. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in US dollars and include standard shipping to the country you choose. The price depends on the number of pages and copies and is shown in ChatGPT and on the checkout page before you pay.
  • During a holiday offer, the checkout page shows the offer, who it applies to and when it ends. You pay the price on the checkout page, which for the same copies and shipping is never more than the price shown in ChatGPT.
  • If sales tax applies to your order, checkout shows it before you pay.
  • Payment is taken on our website by Stripe. We never ask for card details in ChatGPT.
  • An order is accepted when payment succeeds and we email a confirmation.

6. Printing, shipping and delivery

  • We ship to the United States and Canada.
  • Printing starts about 2 hours after payment. Until then you can change the address or cancel by replying to the confirmation email.
  • Delivery dates are estimates from our printer and carriers, not guarantees. Printing takes longer from mid-November. Christmas order-by dates on our website are our best estimate.
  • The packing slip shows no prices, so you can send a book directly as a gift.
  • If a parcel is lost, tell us within 45 days of the order date. Once the carrier confirms it is lost, we print and send a new copy.

7. Cancellations, returns and reprints

  • You can cancel for a full refund within 2 hours of payment. After that, printing may have started and we can’t cancel.
  • If your order can’t ship in the time shown at checkout, we will email you before then with a new date and the choice to cancel for a full refund, even after printing has started.
  • Each book is made to order for your family, so we don’t accept returns or give refunds for a change of mind, or for text that was in the book when you ordered it.
  • If a copy arrives damaged or with a printing defect, email us a photo within 30 days of delivery. We will print and send a new copy at no cost, or refund that copy if you prefer.

8. Your book and our service

We keep your books for the periods in our privacy policy so you can order again. You can delete a book at any time. We may change or stop parts of Stirloom; if we stop the service we will give at least 30 days’ notice on this website, and we will still fulfil every paid order.

9. Liability

Stirloom is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Stirloom or an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any legal claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it. You may bring a claim in small claims court where you live.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes don’t affect orders already placed.
